Omar Andrew Pitts, 32, pleaded guilty to murder, felony murder, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated assault and cruelty to children in the death of Jay’tavious Mahone, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard said.
Pitts and the victim’s sister, Sabrina Powell, were arrested immediately following the boy’s death. Pitts, who has remained in the Fulton County jail since his arrest, was previously facing the death penalty.
Powell remained in jail Friday night awaiting trial."
Joveyan Harriott, of Albany, was arrested following an investigation.
Police said Harriott became involved in an altercation with another motorist around 3:45 a.m. and intentionally crashed her vehicle into the rear of the other parties’ vehicle at Delaware Avenue and Leonard Place."
The burglar also recorded himself on a handheld video camera in one of the classrooms. Images of the burglar were taken from the device and the school’s surveillance system and released to the media."

Nash, 32, was arrested Friday evening at a residence off of Highway 937 in Ascension Parish on suspicion of charges including failure to register as a sex offender, flight from an officer, drug paraphernalia, distribution or possession of a legend drug without a prescription, distribution or possession with intent to distribute schedule I controlled substances, simple criminal damage to property, trespassing, and unauthorized use of a movable. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and no bond had been set as of about 8:30 p.m."
The owner, Demetira Brewer, refused to give her name or date of birth to deputies. She also started yelling that her boyfriend also didn't have to give his name to them, and ignored commands to leave the area."
